May 13th, 2008 - Karen Telford presentation to the DSBN DSBN May 13, 2008 Karen Telford began by referencing an earlier statement that the Board does not want to bus the Virgil Public School students 2 km to a new campus site but it is prepared to bus secondary students to St. Catharines or Niagara Falls. As a parent of a student attending Colonel John Butler Public School, Ms. Telford expressed support for a new elementary school and a community centre on the existing Niagara District Secondary School site based on lot size, transition issues while the new school is constructed, and opportunities for children. Ms. Telford stated that the site has the capability to accommodate school growth, provide green space, provide adequate parking and bus drop off/pick up, and expand program and activity offerings.
